Right + Rude= wrong Just because you're right, but if you say it in a rude manner, you will be wrong. And yet how scary it is to see this in everyday life, where people just think as long as they are right, it doesn't matter how they say their opinions out loud. Tactful, that's something we all need to learn! Love is accpeting but not approving. You don't have to approve someone of their behavior to accept them. Just beccause you're against someone action doesn't mean you can't accpept it. But it aidn't no knuckle under, or playing nice. It's love. The greatest of these is love. Sometimes we just like to play the "Holier than thee" game too much and we start to hit someone in the nuts by being absolutely critical and forget all about the good aspects of someone. I love this saying that "Being a good person is like being a goalkeeper;no matter how many goals you saved, people only remember the ones you missed". It's so true. But Jesus said that "Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many , are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little"(Luke7:47) when the pharisees criticised the woman who poured the alabaster flask of oil on Jesus, and again in luke 18:10-14, two men, one tax collector, the other a pharisee. The pharisee prayed " God, I thank you that I am not like other men- extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector." while the tax collector would not as much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast saying,"God, be merciful to me a sinner!" And Jesus said " I tell you, this man went to his house(the tax collector) justified rather than the other, for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted"(Luke 18:11-14) Enough of playing the "holier than thee", Jesus said "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?" (Luke 7:3) "For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."(Luke 7:2) Rather than saying this and that about the person why don't we love them? |
